It was great to have a recent college graduate talk to us… Ever since hearing Stefano’s talk, whenever I feel close to giving up for whatever reason, I remind myself of the 40% rule.” – Leida Rojas, Sophomore at UCI
Why Book Stefano?
Stefano has been called a “black-belt life optimizer” by his alma mater. Others know him as the “cold shower guy.”
If there’s one theme that’s been consistent throughout his life, it’s been his fascination—or rather, his obsession—with figuring out ways to do things better. This is what attracted him to major in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) while studying at the University of Southern California (Class of 2015).
In a nut shell, ISE is all about helping businesses make systematic and continuous process improvements, with the end goal of cutting costs and maximizing profits.
Over the last 4-5 years, he’s taken these same principles about process improvement and applied them to virtually every aspect of his life.
After graduating from USC, Stefano worked as a Technology Consultant at a global consulting firm (a job he lined up before he had even started his senior year), but it wasn’t long before he decided to quit his job and fully focus on pursuing his passion of helping others reach their fullest potential.
His blog, Collegetopia.co, which started out as a small, personal side project, now reaches tens of thousands of people every single month (with over 600,000+ views in total from over 200+ countries).
He now writes about a wide variety of topics related to personal development and his work has been featured in major publications such as Business Insider, Lifehacker, USC’s Viterbi Magazine, and many others.
How To Do Everything You Want To Do, Without Needing Motivation
I put this talk together to address one of the most common problems I receive emails about…
- “I have so many interests that I would like to either learn about or work on, but there’s just not enough time.”
- “I tend to have this huge surge of motivation and have an incredibly productive day. However, in the following days, I tend to slip and then be super lazy.”
- “I feel like I just lack the energy to summon up the willpower to achieve my goals.”
Over the last 4-5 years of studying the topic of motivation, I’ve learned that the secret to getting more done ultimately comes down to learning how to do two things: 1) maximizing your motivation, and 2) reducing your reliance on motivation.
In this talk, I break down exactly how to do this by implementing a few simple strategies and scientifically proven psychological principles.
